SPEAKER RECEIVES U.S DELEGATION

Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia /MONTSAME/ The Parliament Speaker Z.Enkhbold met on Tuesday Admiral Dennis Cutler Blair, a head of the Advisory board of the Gerson Global Advisors company, and Alphonse F.La Porta, an advisor to the company and a former U.S Ambassador to Mongolia.
The latter thanked the Speaker for the audience and said he has big experience in cooperating with Mongolia and that he worked as the U.S Ambassador to Mongolia in 1997-2000, before an intensive development of our mining sector.
Then the sides exchanged views on developing the Mongolia-US business ties at a level of the Third Neighborhood Policy and on opportunities and possibilities to boost the bilateral relations not only in the mining but also in other fields, and emphasized an importance of attracting both small and big companies to the business cooperation.
Mr Blair underlined a big importance of the US new Ambassador's contribution to deepening of the bilateral relations and cooperation.
The Speaker talked about his meeting with a delegation of the U.S commercial chamber to discuss the bilateral trade, economics and investments, and told about a construction of a 50 MWt wind farm in Tov aimag. "It is being erected within a project of the NewCom Group with joint financing from the U.S General Electric company, the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) and the Bank of Netherlands. Moreover, this project has been registered as one of the projects for pure development mechanisms in frames of the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change," the Speaker underlined.
Then he said it is vital for Mongolia to export processed cashmere to international market.
