STANDING COMMITTEE CONSIDERS DISCHARGING OF MINISTERS
Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia /MONTSAME/ At its meeting on Friday, the parliamentary Standing committee on state structure discussed whether to discharge six cabinet members from the posts in respect of their request.
S.Batbold PM introduced this issue.
Only two parliamentarians--D.Enkhbat and E.Bat-Uul--did not back the matter. "The Democratic Party (DP)-Mongolian People's Party (MPP) coalition government was set up under a contract. A separation of the DP from the government means this contract has been annulled, so the whole cabinet must resign and then only the MPP can form a new one," they said.
E.Bat-Uul MP added that setting up a coalition government must not be repeated because it contradicts the Constitution.
However, the matter was backed by the majority of the commitee and sent to the plenary meeting of the parliamentary session.
