STANDING COMMITTEE ON STATE STRUCTURE MEETS

Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia /MONTSAME/ At its meeting on Tuesday, the parliamentary Standing committee on state structure held first discussions on draft amendment to the law on election of the State Great Khural and on draft amendment to the parliamentary resolution on creating the Order of Chingis Khaan, and others. These resolutions have been backed to be considered at the parliamentary session. The first draft has two changes--in closing time of voting process and in voting with mobile ballot boxes. The second one, initiated by the State Head Ts.Elbegdorj ans sent to parliament on September 5, 2012, says that the Order is to be awarded on November 14--the birthday of Chingis Khaan, and about nominating and selecting the Order's laureate. Then the gathered discussed a draft amendment to the law on public celebration and memorable days. The committee members said the Day of Declaring the People's Republic of Mongolia on November 26 is to be a public holiday, and that there will be another public holiday on November 14, the birthday of Chingis Khaan. The Standing committee also backed a discussion of a draft amendment to the law on administrative units of Mongolia and their authorities. This amendment has been made by R.Gonchigdorj, D.Erdenebat, Battsogt, Kh.Bolorchuluun and R.Burmaa MPs aimed to abolish/prevent conflicts in elections of the self-governance bodies of localities.
