State Academic Degrees, Titles Conferred on Intellectuals

Pyongyang, September 28 (KCNA) -- State academic degrees and titles were conferred on intellectuals who made signal contributions to the building of an economic giant and the improvement of the people's standard of living, with due ceremony on Wednesday. The title of academician went to Chon Un Ju, a teacher at the Pyongyang Medical College of Kim Il Sung University, and the title of candidate academician to Pak Yong Thaek, director of an institute of Kim Chaek University of Technology, and Ri Kun Yong, a teacher of the same university; Pak Hyong Sop, a section chief of Kim Won Gyun University of Music, Kim Sung Nam, a researcher at the State Academy of Sciences; Ha Kyong Ho, a researcher at the Central Industrial Design Administration, and others. Professorship was conferred on Kim Yun Sik, vice-head of a department of Kim Il Sung Higher Party School; Rim Kwang Nam, head of a department of Kim Il Sung University; Choe Yong Hun, a teacher of the university; Yu Sun Chol, head of a department of Pyongyang Medical College of Kim Il Sung University; Pak Tong Chol, head of a department of Kim Chaek University of Technology, and others. Doctorate went to Kim Chang Hae, head of a department of Kim Il Sung University, Kim Sung Gil, doctor of the Pyongyang Medical College of Kim Il Sung University; Ri Song Hun, head of a department of Kim Hyong Jik University of Education; Kim Yong Il, a teacher at the University of National Economy; and others and associate professorship to 236 persons and master's degree to 1 046 persons. -0-
