STATE HEAD PLANTS TREE

Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia /MONTSAME/ The President Ts.Elbegdorj participated in an opening of the Public Day of Planting Trees on Saturday in the National Green Park. He said the Mongolians have a many-centuries' tradition tree-planting. The United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) has awarded Mongolia with its prize "Champions of the Earth" for contributing to saving of environment, he went on and appreciated efforts the city's authorities, individuals and organizations have made to this work and for their decision to establish the National Green Park. According to the organizers, the Mongolians have planted 4.9 million trees since the start of the campaign. During the ceremony, the State Head planted a black alder. B.Khuder
