STATE HEAD RECEIVES VICE PRESIDENT OF NORWAY'S PARLIAMENT

Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia /MONTSAME/ The President Ts.Elbegdorj has received Mr Akhtar Chaudhry, the vice president of the Storting (parliament of Norway). The latter thanked the Mongolian President for visiting Norway's parliament ans said he is glad to meet the President of the country that cherishes common values such as human rights. In turn, the President Elbegdorj said he is satisfied with active development of the inter-parliamentary ties since establishment of the bilateral diplomatic relations and with strengthening of the inter-parliamentary relations recent years. He spoke about the results of the 2012 parliamentary election of Mongolia and court reform. The most important matter are the democracy values, especially in former socialist Asian country, a leadership by a President is also very important in keeping these values, "and I am glad that Mongolia is about to abolish the capital punishment under a leadership of the President Elbegdorj," Mr Chaudhry stressed. He said he is satisfied with Mongolia's achievements and with progress in the political participation of women. Norway has been accumulating experience in right distribution of social wealth to people for 30-40 years, and is ready to share this experience with Mongolia, he went on. Mr Elbegdorj underlined that Mongolia has a tradition of respecting women's rights and hoped the women's political participation will increase in Mongolia. B.Khuder
