STATE SECRETARY OF FOREIGN MINISTRY DISCUSSES WOMEN'S PARTICIPATION WITH CANADIAN DELEGATION

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ D.Davaasuren, State Secretary of Ministry of Foreign Affairs received Sarah Taylor, Director General, North Asia and Oceania at Global Affairs Canada on May 30 to exchange views on further cooperation between Mongolia and Canada.
The sides expressed their satisfaction towards the cooperation between Mongolia and Canada extending further by each year and shared views on regularizing the consultation dialgoue and organizing high-level visits.
State Secretary D.Davaasuren highlighted Canadian companies, which are from a highly developed mining sector, are investing in a country that has almost the same climate as Canada and are interested in exchanging practices and expanding agricultural sector. Also, Mr. D.Davaasuren expressed his gratitude towards Canadian projects that are aimed at strengthening the public sector, improving women’s participation in the Parliament, supporting transparency and enhancing mining management in Mongolia.
Ms. Sarah Taylor shared her content towards the cooperation of the two countries, especially the development projects being implemented by the Government of Canada. She also informed that the Government of Canada is revising the development aid policy and mentioned the new policy will include an article about women’s participation and gender equality in the society. Ms. Sarah Taylor shared her intention in cooperating by further supporting both countries on the international stage and especially within the United Nations.
