STATE VISIT OF INDONESIA'S PRESIDENT IS SUCCESSFUL

Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia /MONTSAME/ The joint statement was issued on the outcome of the state visit of Indonesia's Presidentr Mr Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono on September 6. This visit took place on September 5-7 at the invitation of the President of Mongolia, Mr Ts.Elbegdorj. It says that the two Presidents discussed the relations and collaboration matters, that the talks and negotiations were warm, open and friendly, and that the dignitaries also exchanged views on the regional and international issues of mutual interest. The Speaker Z.Enkhbold and the Prime Minister N.Altankhuyag paid visits to the President of Indonesia, it goes on. Mr Yudhoyono attended the business forum in order to strengthen the two countries' trade and investments ties. The Presidents confirmed a mutual willingness to spread and strengthen the democracy in the region and worldwide. Mr Yudhoyono met representatives of the civil society and shared with them experience in supporting the democratic institutes, culture and values. Two President are satisfied with the relations, especially with high level political talks and negotiations, developing successful in accordance with the joint statement of 1997 on relations and cooperation principles between Mongolia and Republic of Indonesia. Indonesia highly speaks Mongolia's achievements in creating a democratic society, free market economy, in providing economics and social development, organizing parliamentary elections. It appreciates Mongolia's active foreign policy in the Asia Pacific and in international organizations. Mongolian side considers Indonesia as having traditional friendly relations and playng an influental role in ASEAN. Indonesia is an example in Asia by its stability, economic rates, improvements in social life, and foreign policy. The leaders of the two states agree that, to shape the cooperation reserves, short and mid-term strategic programmes should be made. They also consider that a joint commission mechanism of the cooperation, created in 2003, needs to be used fully. For this, Indonesia is ready to host the commission's first meeting in 2013. The two state heads appreciate a signing of the mutual understanding memorandum on cooperation in diplomatic education and trainings between the two countries' Foreign affairs ministries. The Presidents consider as important talks and consultative meetings between these two Ministries and expressed a mutual interest to open Embassies in each other's cities. They agreed to develop a cooperation in the defence sector and to seek possibilities of activating troops mutual visits and supporting peacekeeping operations. The Presidents agreed to develop a collaboration in fighting against terrorism and organized crimes. Since Mongolia and Indonesia both have natural mineral reserves and big agricultural industries, they exchanged opinions on strengthening economic trade relations, investing, producing energy, and saving natural environment. The sides agreed to develop collaboration in mineral resources, energy, infrastructure, small- and medium-sized business and in tourism. Mongolian side thankfully received Indonesian side's offer to share experiences in coal exploration and trade. Mongolian side supported an interest of Indonesia in researching chances of increasing goods and services export. . The State heads exchanged views on collaboration in food and agriculture spheres. They will cooperate in supporting joint researches, in keeping stable the word foods and wheat prices. Noting that the peoples' ties play main role in strengthening of the two countries' relations and cooperation, they underlined an importance of education and culture. Accordingly, the sides agreed to establish documents on culture and tourism. Mongolian side thanked the Indonesian side for helping Mongolia in its social changes tiimes, technical aid, and for letting Mongolians study in their country. Mongolia highly values the Bali Democratic Forum, initiated by Indonesia. Ts.Elbegdorj has been invited by the President of Indonesia to 5th Bali Democratic forum on November 8-9. Indonesia congratulated Mongolia on heading the Community of Democracies in 2011-2013 and expressed a willingness to support goals such as democratic education, region collaboration and actions within the CD. Mongolia wants to study experiences of Indonesia, for example, in Kecamatan Development programme, and Indonesia community for democracy. Indonesia received an invitation from Mongolia to join the Asian partner for Democracy, initiated by the Presidents of Mongolia and Republic of Korea in 2011. Mongolia supports Indonesia's position towards creating a nuclear-free zone within the Southeast Asia and ASEAN. Indonesia congratulated Mongolia on the 20th anniversary of its announcing itself the nuclear weapon-free zone and said Mongolia will be supported in its ensuring the laws related to this status. Mongolia congratulated Indonesia on becoming the head APEC in 2013. The Presidents exchanged views on multilateral cooperation, especially in high level meetings of Southeast Asia, ASEAN and APEC. Ts.Elbegdorj said Mongolia wants to attend these cooperation structures. The two countries' leaders noted that Mongolia needs to support its participation within the rules in order to enter the regional and multilateral cooperation. The sides signed documents during the visit. They are - mutual understanding memorandum on diplomatic education and trainings between Foreign Affairs Ministries - mutual understanding memorandum on mutual direct investments, support for business partner cooperation between Ministry of Economic development of Mongolia and Investment regulation committee of Indonesia - mutual understanding memorandum on agricultural cooperation between Ministry of Food, Agriculture of Mongolia and Agriculture Ministry of Indonesia The leaders noted that this high level meeting was an important inpetus to traditional friendly relations and cooperation and mutual understanding.
