TEACHERS' STRIKE ENDS

Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia /MONTSAME/ The president of the Mongolian Trade Unions (MTU) S.Ganbaatar and a head of the Trade Unions of Education and Science J.Batzorig said that the teachers' strike ended on Monday. It became possible thanks to starting the trilateral social agreement, they said at a gathering held on Sunday by the Prime Minister S.Batbold. "I think the agreement has entered a high level because it is considered by the Prime Minister," S.Ganbaatar said. In turn, the Premier said cabinet will tackle soon the salaries of teachers who had been striking. He added that salaries will be augmented in two phases--in February and May, and that the cabinet will submit the issue to parliament in near future. "I has gathered all of you in order to solve the problem in realistic way. Now we ought to cooperate in realizing od the trilateral agreement," the Premier said, hoping this measure would be an important step to bring the state and private sector collaboration into a new level.
