T.GANDI ABOUT COAL TRANSPORTATION IN GOBI

Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia /MONTSAME/ The Minister of Social Welfare and Labor T.Gandi on Wednesday presented to the cabinet the results of an inspection made into activity of some 13 enterprisers that transport coal through the "Shiveekhuren" and "Gashuunsukhait" border checkpoints. These enterprisers have both achievements and faults, T.Gandi said. "Anyway, some enterprisers must be liable for using a foreign work force in transporting coal from Omnogobi's Tsogttsetsii soum to the 'Gashuunsukhait' border checkpoint," she said. "It means that a control must be improved over an employment of foreigners, responsibilities must be toughened of those breaching laws, and a legal environment ought to be created so as to not allow law breaching foreigners to work in Mongolia," she went on. Other suggestions she sounded were to have foreigners pay the commission of social insurance, make the Anti-Economic Crimes Section into an economic police department, augment a number of staffers in charge of labor affairs, create a one-point center of state service, and to prepare/train operators and drivers of heavy-duty trucks in frames of the Oyu tolgoi and Tavan tolgoi projects.
