Thai PM to attend golden jubilee celebration of Brunei sultan

BANGKOK, Oct 6 (TNA) – Prime Minister Gen Prayut Chan-o-cha is vising Brunei to attend the golden jubilee celebration for Sultan of Brunei Hassanal Bolkiah. The event marks the 50th year since Sultan Hassanal Bolkiah ascended the throne. Gen Prayut and his wife Naraphon left the Royal Thai Airforce base in Don Mueang this afternoon and are scheduled to return home at 00.50am on Oct 7. The 71-year-old Sultan is the world's second longest-reigning living monarch after Queen Elizabeth of England. The House of Bolkiah has ruled the country continuously for over 600 years. (TNA)
