Thai PM, ministers well-prepared for censure debate

BANGKOK, November 15 (TNA) - Thai Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra and other Cabinet members have been well-prepared for the forthcoming censure debate, scheduled for November 25-27. Newly-appointed Minister Attached to the Prime Minister's Office Sansanee Nak-pong confirmed today that the prime minister and other ministers, targeted for the censure debate, are ready to publicly clarify all points raised by the opposition camp. Sansanee, who is a former government spokeswoman, insisted that the Yingluck administration will observe parliamentary rules and regulations and is ready for the "counter-check" by the opposition side. Female MPs of the ruling Pheu Thai Party, meanwhile, announced their readiness to protect Yingluck, Thailand's first female prime minister, during the censure debate if the opposition breached the parliamentary rules and regulations, expressing their confidence in the Pheu Thai premier's competence and ability to clear all allegations raised by the opposition. Regarding to security measures during the upcoming censure debate, amid reports on an anti-government demonstration, Deputy House Speaker Charoen Chankomol told reporters that more than 300 police officers will be deployed inside and around the Thai Parliament compound and even adjacent areas to ensure order, with their strict operations set to begin on November 19.
