Top Chinese General visits Thailand

BANGKOK, May 30 (TNA) - A top Chinese military officer met Thai Armed Forces Chief to strengthen military ties and visited the Counter Terrorists Operations Centre of the Royal Thai Armed Forces Headquarters. Gen Surapong Suwana-adth received China's Chief of Joint Staff and a member of the Central Military Commission Gen Fang Fenghui and his entourage on the latter’s official visit to Thailand as guests of the Thai Army. The two military leaders inspected a guard of honour from Thai armed forces and they discussed cooperation in various fields including education, exchange of visits and intelligence. The visit reiterated good relations between the armies of both countries in bilateral and multilateral levels and the two countries conducted several trainings such as anti-terrorism trainings and Cobra Gold 2017. Gen Fang also paid a courtesy call on Thai Prime Minister Gen Prayut Chan-o-cha at Government House and Deputy Prime Minister and Defence Minister Gen Prawit Wongsuwon at the Ministry of Defence.
