TRAINING AND CONFERENCE ON ANTI-TERRORISM
Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia /MONTSAME/ The National Academy of Intelligence (NAI) held last weekend a training for intelligence officers and investigators on ensuring rights of participants in criminal procedure.
The training was conducted by Kh.Monkhzul, a public relations section head of the National Commission for Human Rights (NCHR); B.Bolorsaikhan, an expert of education and training on human rights of the (NCHR); B.Bataa and T.Ikhtamir, experts on complaint and monitoring affairs. They gave lessons on understanding about human rights, ensuring human rights in case of arresting suspects, detaining suspects or defendants, and of taking measures for making verdict, on rights at court and on torture.
Apart of the training, a theory-practice conference themed "New types of terrorism: legal urgent problems" was co-organized by the NAI and the Regulatory Council of Activities Combating Terrorism.
This conference brought together officers from the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA), the Defense Ministry, the Ministry of Industry and Agriculture, the General Police Department, the National Emergency Management Agency, the Institute of Strategic Studies, the Institute of Geopolitics, Mongolia's Anti-Terrorism Association, the University of Defense, the University of Law Enforcement, the University of Agriculture, the Scientific Institute of Defense and other institutions.
At the end of the conference, a recommendation was issued on necessary matters to refine upon the law regulation for combating terrorism.
