TS.ELBEGDORJ RECEIVES AIBA HEAD

Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia /MONTSAME/ The Polar Star Order was bestowed upon Mr. Ching-Kuo Wu, the president of the International Boxing Association (AIBA) on Saturday. He has contributed to propagandizing the development of box sport in Mongolia on international and continental arenas. Mr. Ching-Kuo Wu, who is visiting Mongolia for the second time, said he respects the State Head for propagating the democracy. "Mongolia has great traditions and culture of martial arts, which can be proved by gold and silver medals from the Beijing 2008 Olympic Games. It is expected that the Mongolian boxers will show a brilliant success at the London Olympics," he said. Mr. Ching-Kuo Wu noted that the upcoming Olympic Games include the women's boxing events in three weight categories, and stressed an importance of the 6th Asian Women's Boxing Championships which were held in Mongolia recently. He said he wants to see the Mongolians in the management group of the AIBA, adding Mongolia needs to improve training facilities and introduce the latest technologies. He advised Mongolia to seek an opportunity to establish the Training Center of Asia, and that the AIBA is ready to support any policies Mongolia wants to run to develop boxing. In turn, the State Head said young Mongolians are greatly interested in training in boxing sport and thanked Ching-Kuo Wu for supporting this type of sport in Mongolia. B.Khuder
