Turkmenistan offered to take part in construction of China-Kyrgyzstan-Uzbekistan railway

Turkmenistan was offered to take part in construction of China-Kyrgyzstan-Uzbekistan railway project, Minister of Transport and Roads of Kyrgyzstan Zhamshitbek Kalilov told journalists commenting on the results of the first day of the state visit of President Sooronbay Jeenbekov to Turkmenistan. "We will work very hard on this issue with the Turkmen railwaymen. Because, in the near future we will begin the construction of one of the important corridors China-Kyrgyzstan-Uzbekistan. Somewhere before the end of 2018, the leaders of the railway departments of China, Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan will meet in Bishkek. There is a preliminary feasibility study on this project," Kalilov said. He said that negotiations are being held with Russia on this project as well. "If Turkmenistan joins in the construction of this railway corridor, it will be very fine," he said "We will definitely discuss with them (with Turkmenistan) in which format they will participate.
