UNOG DIRECTOR-GENERAL MEETS FM

Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia /MONTSAME/ Visiting the Swiss Confederation, the Foreign Minister of Mongolia L.Bold met on Thursday with Mr Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, the Director-General of the United Nations Office at Geneva (UNOG). The Minister congratulated Mr Tokayev on the UN's Day, and then officially invited him to take part in a Ministerial Meeting of the Community of Democracies (CoD) to be held on April 29, 2013 in Ulaanbaatar. In response, Mr Tokayev promised to make his effort to participate in the Ministerial Meeting. At the meeting, L.Bold underlined that the cooperation between Mongolia and the UN have been widening in the fields of socio-economics, politics, culture and peacekeeping operations since Mongolia became a member of the UN in 1961. Congratulating the Foreign Minister on paying the first visit to Switzerland, Mr Tokayev emphasized that reputation of Mongolia at an international field has been raising thanks to widening of the Mongolia-UN relations and cooperation such as participation in the UN peacekeeping operations and chairmanship of the Community of Democracies.
