UVS AIMAG LOCALS INTRODUCED GOVERNMENT ACTIONS

Ulaanbaatar/MONTSAME/ At the meeting with local citizens of Uvs aimag on March 24, the Prime Minister introduced about present socio-economic condition and government’s actions and further purposes.
He said, “We, Mongolians, are encountering problems, such as instable policies and the loss of discipline and responsibility that became common place, receipt of a huge amount of debt without accurate calculations, but unproductive spendings, liquidation of thousands of businesses due to red tape and pressures, as well as the loss of confidence of investors. As we found reasons of the problems, the Government is working to fix them by reinforcing discipline, order and accountability in all stages of public organizations.”
“Thanks to the actions taken by the government, there are some achievements, including economic growth which was at 1.2 percent showed up an increase of 5.2 percent in 2017 and is predicted to be 8 percent next year,” he added.
Moreover, he highlighted some improvements, such as increases in foreign investment, export, foreign currency reserve and production of industrial sector and the decline of the state budget deficit.
“The Government is paying an attention to provide citizens with healthy foods, protect their health and make them educated and have apartments. It means we need to have independent and strong economy. Therefore, we will develop agriculture, animal husbandry, farming, tourism except mining. In nearest future, constructional works of energy plant, oil refinery and railroad will be commenced, alongside completing connections of western aimags with Ulaanbaatar by paved road by 2020,” underlined the PM.
The local citizens locals raised questions and sought the government support on various matters, such as developing irrigated farming, preventing from pastureland deterioration, reducing the number of poor quality universities and institutes as well as preferring to award herders who develop intensified animal husbandry instead of awarding those who raise the number of livestock.
