VICE SPEAKER MEETS U.S AMBASSADOR

Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia /MONTSAME/ A Vice Speaker of Parliament S.Bayartsogt received on Monday Ms Piper Anne Wind Campbell, the U.S Ambassador to Mongolia. The Vice Speaker congratulated Ms Campbell on being appointed the new Ambassador to Mongolia. Then he noted that the Mongolia-U.S relations have been successfully developing in accordance with a principle of comprehensive partnership, and thanked the U.S side for supporting Mongolia's democracy. S.Bayartsogt underlined that the relations and cooperation have been widening in recent years, for example, Mongolians know about the assistance and support given by the USA in accordance with the general agreement on the Millennium Challenge Account established in 2007. In the important sectors such as health, education, environment and road, six projects are being realized here within a contract on non-refundable aid of USD 285 million from the MCA. In turn, Ms Campbell said members of the US-Mongolia group at the U.S Congress are keen on closely collaborating with Mongolia. She also asked the Vice Speaker about the new parliament and cabinet and their structures and compositions. S.Bayartsogt emphasized an importance of projects and programmes being implemented with a financing of the House Democracy Partnership at the U.S Congress.
