VICE SPEAKER RECEIVES BHUTANESE FOREIGN MINISTER

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ Vice Speaker Ts.Nyamdorj received Thursday a delegation led by Damcho Dorji, Foreign Minister of the Kingdom of Bhutan. Vice Speaker Ts.Nyamdorj expressed his satisfaction with the visit of the Bhutanese high-officials and meeting with Bhutanese people for the first time. Nyamdorj considered that the visit of the Mongolian Foreign Minister to Bhutan paid in 2016 was the start of active relations between the two countries since the diplomatic relations established in 2012. The Vice Speaker briefed about the Mongolian governmental structure as well as the State Great Khural (parliament) established in 1992, and then informed that L.Eldev-Ochir and N.Uchral MPs are included in the Mongolia-Bhutan inter-parliamentary group. He hopes that Mongolian MPs would actively work to intensify the ties between the legislative bodies, and noted the two countries could develop the bilateral cooperation in the fields of tourism, history, culture, agriculture and health. In response, Bhutanese Foreign Minister Damcho Dorji thanked the Vice Speaker for the audience, and emphasized he experienced many things in a short time during his first visit to Mongolia. Mr Damcho Dorji talked about his meeting held with the Mongolian Minister of Agriculture and Light Industry and the Minister of Health to discuss boosting collaboration in the sectors of animal husbandry and traditional medicine. “As you mentioned, our country formed a new parliament through democratic elections in 2008. We have held two elections and the next elections are expected in 2018,” the Foreign Minister said. “Members of the inter-parliamentary group actively work to develop the bilateral relations and they serve as a bridge between people. I am pleased with widening of the inter-parliamentary ties,” Mr Damcho Dorji said. B.Tugsbilig
