Vietnamese prime minister’s visit to Thailand

BANGKOK, Aug 18 (TNA) -- Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha welcomed Vietnamese Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc who arrived Thailand to boost bilateral relations in all possible dimensions. In the official visit, Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc inspected guards of honor at Government House. Then both prime ministers discussed cooperation on military affairs, fisheries, trade, and economic affairs as well as transport connectivity. Both prime ministers confirmed that peace, security and stability were fundamental to the development and prosperity of countries inside and outside the region. They also witnessed the signing of 10 bilateral agreements including those concerning economic, scientific and communication cooperation; partnerships between Thailand’s Trat province and Vietnam’s Ca Mau province; and cooperation between Thai and Vietnamese central banks. Prime Minister Prayut also hosted a dinner for the Vietnamese prime minister and his spouse as the guests of the Thai government. The visit was set on Aug 17-19. (TNA)
