Z.BAYANSELENGE RECIEVES WB REGIONAL DELEGATION

Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia /MONTSAME/ A head of a parliamentary Standing committee on social policy, education, culture and sciences Ms Z.Bayanselenge received Ms Xiaoqing Yu, a Sector Manager and Lead Economist, Human Development, East Asia and Pacific Region of the World Bank, and an expert for technical assistance operations in Mongolia from the WB Mr Mikeli Zini on October 24. Z.Bayanselenge spoke about being considered by parliament biggest drafts on social sector. She said many works are to be done such as policy towards children, human development, health issues, food products safety, nutrition matters. Then she noted that all possibilities exist to cooperate in these directions. Ms Xiaoquing, in response, said the implemented by the World Bank projects aim to reduce poverty and to minimize a vulnerability of strata. The poverty is reducing thanks to the economy growth but the strata is still vulnerable due to global economic crisis, so some actions are needed, and they will be taken and a cooperation will widen, she hoped.
