President of Yemeni Presidential Leadership Council Grants Order of Courage to Masam Project

Aden, June 27, 2023, SPA -- President of the Yemeni Presidential Leadership Council, Dr. Rashad Al-Alimi, has awarded the Order of Courage to the Saudi project called "Masam," which aims to clear Yemeni lands of mines. According to the Yemen News Agency (SABA), Dr. Al-Alimi issued Decree No. (16) of 2023, which grants the Masam project the Order of Courage. The decree also states that the decision takes immediate effect and will be published in the Official Gazette.
Advisor at the Royal Court and Supervisor General of the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSrelief), Dr. Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al Rabeeah, acknowledged that President Al-Alimi's decision to award the Order of Courage to Masam reflects the project's significant achievements in clearing Yemeni lands of dangerous mines, including anti-personnel and anti-tank mines. This has resulted in a reduction of threats to lives and property. Since its establishment in 2018, the project has successfully cleared over 400,000 randomly planted mines across Yemen, which have posed a risk to innocent victims, including children, women, and the elderly.
Dr. Al Rabeeah expressed gratitude and appreciation to Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, and His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, for their ongoing assistance and support to the Yemeni people in various relief and humanitarian support areas.
