Qatar Charity Partners With QFFD To Launch New Convoy Of Aid To Sudan

 
Doha, June 17 (QNA) - Qatar Charity launched a new convoy of food aid to support people affected by the conflict in Sudan and displaced to AlJazeera State, in cooperation with Qatar Fund for Development (QFFD), as part of a series of medical and nutritional interventions for the benefit of those affected by the war in the states of Khartoum, Red Sea, AlJazeera, and Northern State. The volume of the convoy amounted to (35) tons of food aid, distributed over (1,000) food baskets and one basket contained (12) items of basic and necessary supplies for the beneficiaries. The convoy was received by the General Director of the Ministry of Social Welfare in Al Jazeera State and the Minister in charge Fateh Al-Rahman Muhammad Taha who praised the continuous relief efforts of the State of Qatar, noting the aid provided by Qatar Charity and Qatar Fund for Development in times of calamities and disasters. He explained that the AlJazeera State and by virtue of its proximity to the State of Khartoum was the crossing and the safe haven for citizens in the State of Khartoum who came to the AlJazeera State and their numbers exceeded the population of the State. The food aid convoy targets the expatriates who have been displaced due to the ongoing fighting in Khartoum, along with the host families in AlJazeera State, within the framework of the continuous interventions from the State of Qatar in various food and health fields and provide everything for the displaced in the State of Al Jazeera.
