Qatar Participates in GCC-EU Conference on Countering Extremist Ideology, Radicalization

 

Riyadh, June 07 (QNA) - The State of Qatar took part in the GCC-EU Conference on Countering Extremist Ideology and Radicalization, which concluded Wednesday at the GCC General Secretariate in the Saudi capital, Riyadh.

Director of the Economic and Cyber Crimes Combating Department at the General Directorate of Criminal Investigation at the Ministry of Interior, Brigadier General Ali Hassan Al Kubaisi, member of the National Counter-Terrorism Committee headed Qatar's delegation to the conference.

The conference was convened within the framework of joint cooperation between the GCC countries, in order to activate the joint action plan between GCC countries European Union (EU).

The two-day conference tackled practical and procedural issues related to counter extremism efforts. Participants from member states and civil society organizations presented several papers with the aim of exchanging experiences in the field of combating extremist ideology and discussing methods of terrorist recruitment in order to combat them.
