Qatar University Organizes 2nd Orientation Exhibition for Students of Health, Medical Sciences Sector

 
Doha, September 07 (QNA) - QU Health at Qatar University (QU) organized the second orientation exhibition for new students under the slogan "QU Health: Your Gateway to the Health Professions," to provide an opportunity for new students to become acquainted with QU Health, its five colleges, university life, as well as student organizations and clubs. The second orientation exhibition was an opportunity for new students to explore the diverse landscape of health profession programs, connect with student organizations, and familiarize themselves with the campus and its resources. This event signifies the university's dedication to equipping the next generation of health professionals with the knowledge, skills, and values needed for success. QU's commitment to excellence in health profession education is evident in the extensive participation of healthcare organizations from across the country. In a statement, Chief Medical Officer at Hamad Medical Corporation Dr. Abdullah Al Ansari highlighted the educational quality and significant advancements in programs offered by QU Health, saying: "These programs aim to meet the community's needs and the job market by introducing innovative ideas and models that contribute to the development of the health sector." He pointed out that Hamad Medical Corporation collaborates with QU Health in research, student clinical training, and hiring graduates. For her part, Vice President of QU for Health and Medical Sciences Dr. Asmaa Al-Thani stressed the importance of the second introductory meeting for students in the Health and Medical Sciences sector and the accompanying exhibition, saying: "This meeting serves as the first step in students' educational and professional journey, offering them insights into the skills and opportunities available in the health field and academic life within QU Health." In turn, Director of Clinical Operations and Engagement at QU Dr. Alla El Awais added that QU Health is dedicated to introducing new students to the various services it offers and fostering a collaborative culture, especially since the first year of study involves common subjects for all students. She said that the first year of the academic program is a common stage where all students study the same subjects. she pointed out that this meeting aims to familiarize them with all the specializations and programs within QU Health, enabling students to explore other professions that will enhance their teamwork skills as a unified health team in the future. It also aims to inform them about the opportunities available in the fields of scientific research and training. QU Health is one of the largest academic health clusters in the region, comprising five colleges: the College of Health Sciences, the College of Pharmacy, the College of Medicine, the College of Dentistry, and the College of Nursing.
