Doha, February 21 (QNA) - In their editorials Tuesday, Qatari newspapers shed light on the State of Qatar's foreign policy that adopted the principle of mediation and diplomacy in settling disputes.
The newspapers stressed that Qatar believes that wars, crises and conflicts can only be resolved through dialogue and negotiations, noting the State's remarkable successes in resolving intractable crises and bringing all parties to the negotiating table in order to find lasting diplomatic solutions that end decades of wars and crises.
They also underlined HH the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani's affirmation, during his meeting Monday with HE Senator from Kansas State in the friendly United States of America Dr. Roger Marshall, on Qatar's permanent position in supporting international humanitarian work and making all efforts to bring peace in the region and the world.
Under the headline "Qatar Global Destination for Peace and Investment," Al-Sharq newspaper said that the State of Qatar affirms its global humanitarian status and diplomatic leadership in initiatives aimed at consolidating global security and peace, which was emphasized by HH the Amir during his meeting yesterday with Dr. Roger Marshall.
The paper pointed out that Dr. Roger Marshall handed to HH the Amir the US Senate's decision, which included the Senate thanks and appreciation to the State of Qatar for its efforts and decisive role in helping the United States to evacuate thousands of people from its citizens and permanent legal residents and Afghans at risk and their families from Afghanistan, as well as Qatar's pivotal role in harboring thousands of people who were evacuated, noting that Qatar's stance on this regard reflects its belief in the importance of the international community uniting to establish global peace and security.
The newspaper drew attention to the State of Qatar's leading role at the political level, which is no less important than its leadership in terms of strategic partnerships in the economic fields, which are the most prominent pillar of security and development. Thanks to this policy, the State of Qatar has become a global destination for business and investments, and its advanced infrastructure, financial stability, and low and corporate tax rates have contributed to attracting more foreign investments from all countries of the world, it added.
Al-Sharq concluded its editorial by saying that the private sector conference held on the sidelines of the Fifth Session of Qatar-US Strategic Dialogue yesterday in Doha is the biggest evidence of this, as the United States has become one of the most important and largest trading partners of the State of Qatar.
Meanwhile, Al-Watan newspaper said in its editorial entitled "Supporting Peace", that the State of Qatar has turned into a symbol of humanitarian action, and has become, thanks to its tremendous efforts in this regard, the leader of humanitarian diplomacy, through the growing role of the preventive diplomacy it pursues at the regional level, and its mediation role in resolving conflicts that represented threats to international peace and security in the Middle East region, such as the crisis in Lebanon, the conflict in Darfur, and the relations between Sudan and Chad and between Djibouti and Eritrea, as well as in Afghanistan.
The paper explained that Qatar recorded great successes in the Afghan file, which were praised by the whole world, and the last of these praises was represented in the US Senate's decision, which included the Senate thanks and appreciation to the State of Qatar for its efforts and decisive role in helping the United States to evacuate thousands of people from its citizens and permanent legal residents and Afghans at risk and their families from Afghanistan, as well as Qatar's pivotal role in harboring thousands of people who were evacuated.
In conclusion, Al-Watan underlined HH the Amir's affirmation, during his meeting Monday with HE Dr. Roger Marshall, on Qatar's permanent position in supporting international humanitarian work and making all efforts to bring peace in the region and the world, which is a firm principled position that is at the core of the Qatari policy aimed at protecting global security and peace through all available means, stressing that the US Senate's decision is a highly appreciated recognition of these great humanitarian efforts of the State of Qatar.

Qatar believes that wars, crises, and conflicts can only be resolved through dialogue and negotiations and has recorded remarkable successes in resolving crises by bringing all parties to the negotiating table to find diplomatic solutions, ending long decades of wars and crises. Qatar believes that settling disputes and conflicts by peaceful means requires active participation in multilateral international action to achieve peace, security, stability, and development. Qatar has hosted many regional and international mediations and has been able as a reliable mediator to resolve many disputes. Qatar had a prominent role in resolving the Afghan crisis by hosting talks between the various Afghan factions and the United States, followed by the tremendous efforts to evacuate and shelter thousands of Afghan citizens and foreigners, and operating an air bridge to transport relief materials to the Afghan people, emphasizing the necessity of continuing humanitarian aid to this people and separating it from the political dispute, Al-Raya noted. In another matter, and under the title "Cruise tourism boost", the English-language newspaper The Peninsula confirmed in its editorial that tourism is one of Qatar’s top priority sectors, integral to its vision of diversifying its economy and increasing private sector participation.
