Doha, March 21 (QNA) - Qatari newspapers highlighted Tuesday the talks of HH the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani and HE President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedow, which reflected the distinct relations between the two friendly countries and people.
The Qatari dailies pointed to the significance of the talks in pushing forward the bilateral relations, in addition to the agreements and memoranda of understanding signed between the two sides, which will contribute to promoting the cooperation to serve the interests of the two friendly people, as well as peace and stability in the region and the world.
In its editorial titled "Promising Cooperation between Doha and Ashgabat", Al-Sharq stressed the State of Qatar's keenness on strengthening its relations with the Asian countries, supporting all efforts to enhance regional and international peace and security, and developing the relations and joint cooperation in vital sectors, based on the common will to create a safe and stable region, and achieve sustainable economic development and joint prosperity.
Al-Sharq highlighted the talks held by HH the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani and HE President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedow, and the agreements and memoranda of understanding signed between the two countries with the aim of developing the bilateral relations and serve the common interests.
The paper added that the visit of the HE the President of Turkmenistan contributes to promoting the bilateral relations and pushing forward the cooperation and partnership between the two countries to fulfil the aspirations of the two friendly people and achieve peace, stability and prosperity in the region and the world.
Al-Sharq indicated that the joint agreements signed between the two countries open the way for joint cooperation between Doha and Ashgabat, to move towards broader horizons and enhance investments between the two countries in a number of fields, and to exploit the opportunities available to increase the volume of bilateral trade exchange, through joint implementation of projects, especially in the fields of oil and gas in the Caspian Sea, the construction of plants for the production of petrochemicals, agriculture, industry, tourism, real estate, banks and others.
Meanwhile, Qatari daily Al-Watan said the talks of HH the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani and HE President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedow reflected the distinguished and good relations that bind the two friendly countries and peoples.
In its editorial titled "Strong Relations", the paper underlined that the important talks give the relations an important impetus, whether in terms of deepening, supporting and enhancing the bilateral relations, or in terms of discussing a number of issues of common concern, in addition to the signing of a number of agreements and memoranda of understanding, which will contribute to the development of the bilateral cooperation in a way that serves the aspirations of the two friendly peoples, as well as peace and stability in the region and the world.
Qatar and Turkmenistan enjoy distinguished and friendly relations that are stable and based on mutual understanding and respect. The diplomatic relations between the two sides were established in 1996, and the embassy of the State of Qatar was opened in Turkmenistan in 2014. These relations witnessed further development, as the two countries maintain good relations in the political and diplomatic field through the exchange of support in international forums and political consultations between the foreign ministries of the two countries, Al-Watan said.
Qatar and Turkmenistan have trade and economic relations. The visits of trade delegations, the meetings of the Qatar-Turkmenistan joint committee, the Qatar-Turkmenistan businessmen forum, and the efforts of Qatar and Turkmenistan chambers have contributed to strengthening and deepening these relations. Indeed, the visit of HE President Serdar Berdimuhamedow will achieve a new impetus for these relations in various domains, Al-Watan concluded.  
 
For its part, Al-Arab newspaper stressed in its editorial that HE President of the Republic of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedow's visit to the country constitutes a new promising stage and an important station in the bilateral relations, raising them to broader horizons in the service of the common interests of the two countries and their friendly peoples.
  The agreements and memorandums of understanding (MoUs) signed will contribute to developing relations between the two countries and serving their common interests, in a manner that serves the aspirations of their two friendly peoples. The two countries have had distinguished and friendly relations characterized by stability and mutual respect since the start of their diplomatic relations in 1996 when ambassadors were exchanged at the level of a non-resident ambassador before opening the Embassy of the State of Qatar in Turkmenistan in late December 2014, the paper said.
    The newspaper pointed out that the mutual visits between officials of the two countries at various levels reflect the extent of mutual care, interest, and desire to strengthen cooperation relations and raise the level of partnership and coordination in many areas of common interest.
    Al-Arab concluded by emphasizing that the Qatari market is promising and attractive, welcoming all foreign investments, and witnessing an abundance of opportunities in most economic sectors, with world-class infrastructure. Qatar is the world's largest exporter of LNG and has a world-class infrastructure, economic legislation, and laws that encourage investment in it. Free zones in Qatar provide huge opportunities in various sectors and have occupied a distinguished position in many indicators of global competitiveness, proving that it is an ideal place for investment and business establishment.
    In turn, the English-language newspaper The Peninsula affirmed in its editorial that Qatar's relations with diverse actors and governments across the globe have positioned it as an essential conduit, mediator, and champion of respectful bilateral ties between nations. 
   Qatar pursues priorities like expanding dialogue and relations surrounding nations in the Gulf, Middle East, and wider Asia, demonstrating the country’s principles of strengthening international peace and security, the paper stressed.
    In this context, The Peninsula noted the official talks session between HH the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani and HE Turkmen President Serdar Berdimuhamedow. During the session, both countries discussed bilateral relations and the means to enhance them in all fields, particularly education, economy, investment, commerce, energy, sports, and social affairs, in addition to exchanging views on the most prominent regional and international issues.
    Both leaders witnessed the signing of MoUs to cover disaster management between the two countries' governments, cooperation between Qatar’s Public Prosecution Office and the Prosecutor General’s Office of Turkmenistan, and cooperation between youth from Qatar and Turkmenistan, and a programme for cooperation in sports between the Ministry of Sports and Youth in Qatar and the State Committee for Physical Culture and Sports in Turkmenistan for 2023-2024, the paper said.
    In conclusion, The Peninsula praised HE Turkmen President's meeting with Qatar Chamber (QC) and the Qatar Businessmen Association (QBA) members. He stressed the significant development between Qatar and his country over the past few years.
    In another matter, Al-Raya newspaper highlighted the continuous efforts of the Shura Council to shed light on the problems and challenges faced by the citizen to solve and overcome them during the country's renaissance. In this context, The Shura Council exercised its constitutional right by discussing inflation and the increase in financial burdens on citizens, reviewing the Financial and Economic Affairs Committee's report on inflation, high cost of living, and increased financial burdens on citizens.
    Al-Raya indicated that increasing burdens, rising prices, and inflation are among the most important problems that worry citizens, leading to an impede in the development process sought by the country. The Council presented, within its proposal to the government, a number of axes and recommendations that would contribute to reducing the effects of inflation, addressing the problem of high prices of consumer goods, and providing realistic scenarios to address the high operational cost of commodities and services.
  Through the Financial and Economic Affairs Committee, the Shura Council sought to raise and follow up on the problem of inflation and the increase in financial burdens on citizens. Several proposed solutions and recommendations were reached to address inflation and high prices, including those related to anti-monopoly policies, increasing the places designated for commercial activities, subsidizing basic commodities and materials, supporting the national product to increase its production in the local market, reviewing fees and taxes policies, and raising awareness of the important role of the merchant and consumer in this aspect.
  Al-Raya concluded its editorial by saying that the Shura Council supports the government's work by presenting recommendations that are at the heart of the legislative work in the country and expanding popular participation in decision-making. (QNA)
