Doha, May 07 (QNA) - In their editorials Sunday, Qatari newspapers affirmed the deeply rooted relations between the State of Qatar and the United Kingdom based on the exchange of common interests and cooperation in various fields, noting in this regard HH the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani's participation in the coronation ceremony of His Majesty King Charles III as King of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, which was held in London on Sunday.
The newspapers said that HH the Amir's attendance at the coronation ceremony indicates the State of Qatar's keenness to strengthen its distinguished relations with the United Kingdom, and it is also an occasion to develop relations between the two countries in various fields. HH the Amir's visit also represents an opportunity to discuss strategic relations between the two countries, the papers added.
  Al-Sharq newspaper said in its editorial that the State of Qatar and the United Kingdom have deep and solid relations based on the exchange of common interests and cooperation in various fields, pointing out that the two countries are keen to highlight the importance of this strategic partnership at all international events.
  The paper referred to the participation of HH the Amir and HH Consort of HH the Amir Sheikha Jawaher bint Hamad bin Suhaim Al-Thani in the coronation ceremony of HM King Charles III of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, held at Westminster Abbey, London on Saturday
The newspaper expressed its certainty that the reign of HM King Charles III will be a new step to push the Qatari-British relations towards broader horizons of cooperation and coordination in a number of fields, as King Charles III has strong relations with the State of Qatar and important stages of cooperation.
  In conclusion, Al-Sharq said that King Charles is interested in the Islamic world and has a distinct understanding and knowledge of the principles of Islam. He indicated in his famous speech in 1996 titled "A Sense of the Sacred: Building Bridges Between Islam and the West," that an appreciation of the Islamic tradition's deep respect for the timeless traditions of the natural order could "help us in the West to rethink, and for the better, our practical stewardship of man and his environment."
For its part, Al-Watan daily said in its editorial that HH the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani participated in the coronation ceremony of HM King Charles III of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, held in London on Saturday.
The paper underlined that HH's participation came within the framework of the Qatari-British historical and unique ties in all areas of cooperation, as the two countries are bound by many agreements and memorandums of understanding in a number of fields, noting that the mutual visits between the two countries are continuing at the highest levels. The paper also noted the commitment of the leaderships of the two countries to strengthening the historical partnership between the two countries at the strategic level, and establishing close cooperation stronger than ever to jointly address common global challenges.
  The newspaper affirmed that HH the Amir's attendance at the coronation ceremony indicates the State of Qatar's keenness to strengthen its distinguished relations with the United Kingdom, and it is also an occasion to develop relations between the two countries in various fields.
     Al-Watan concluded its editorial by saying that the visit represents an opportunity to discuss the strategic relations between the two countries, as His Highness discussed with HE Prime Minister of the United Kingdom the strategic bilateral relations and the means to enhance them in different fields, and a number of regional and international developments, in addition to the friendship and cooperation relations between the two countries, and ways to enhance them. They also exchanged views on a number of issues of joint interest. 
In turn, Al-Arab newspaper said that the participation of HH the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani and HH Consort of HH the Amir Sheikha Jawaher bint Hamad bin Suhaim Al-Thani in the coronation ceremony of HM King Charles III of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland emphasized the depth of bilateral relations between the two countries, which encompasses vital areas such as security, defense, energy security, dispute resolution efforts and international mediation.
The newspaper stressed that the visit also reflects Qatar's keenness to strengthen its distinguished relations with the United Kingdom during King Charles' reign, as the two countries have strong relations based on understanding, harmony, and cooperation in various fields.
Al-Arab pointed out that the Qatari-British relations have historical singularity, backed by many agreements and MOU in various fields. The partnership agreement signed between the two countries in 2010 represents an important milestone in the history of Qatari-British relations, the newspaper said, adding that the two countries would intensify their high-level dialogues by holding regular consultation sessions at the ministerial level on regional issues, as well as affirming their joint commitment to international development.
The newspaper concluded by saying that the United Kingdom is one of the distinguished destinations for Qatari investment, which have entered into many strategic sectors such as real estate development, hospitality, health care, technology, and other fields, noting that the volume of trade exchange between the two countries is also increasing, as the United Kingdom is the 7th trading partner of the State of Qatar.
In another matter, Al-Raya newspaper focused on the State of Qatar's support for fellow brothers dealing with various critical circumstances, stressing Qatar's permanent commitment to supporting Sudan, especially in the recent crisis.
  In this context, the newspaper noted the urgent humanitarian measures implemented by Qatar to provide relief to the Sudanese people by launching an air bridge to transport relief, development and medical aid, as well as contributing to the evacuation of the those holding Qatari residency, and ensuring their safe and secure arrival in Doha.
Al-Raya said Qatar organized two evacuation trips over two days to transport 229 people with Qatari residency out of concern for their security and to reunite them with their families in Doha.
It added that Qatar wanted to send a clear message that it will always stand by the Sudanese people in all their crises, pointing out that Qatar played great roles in support of security, stability and development in Sudan, especially in the Darfur region and many Sudanese areas. Qatari humanitarian and relief teams are present on the ground in Sudan, and they implemented large projects that contributed to achieving prosperity and improving the living conditions of the people.
The newspaper concluded by saying that Qatar always stood with the Sudanese interest, and was supportive of every step that would bring peace to Sudan. It has alerted the parties to the crisis in Sudan of the need to stop the clashes and activate the political solution by sitting at the dialogue table to find a comprehensive solution that prevents the return of violence and armed conflict.
In another subject, The Peninsula newspaper highlighted the major sports competitions which will be hosted by Doha during this period, noting that the best athletes will be in Doha to display their skills.
The newspaper said that on Friday, Qatar Sports Club’s Suheim Bin Hamad Stadium hosted an array of top track and field stars, adding that a total of 180 athletes representing 80 countries took part in the traditional opening meet of the 14-leg Diamond League. The star studded line-up included 15 reigning individual Olympic and world champions.
Doha is also playing host to IJF World Judo Championships Doha 2023 at state-of-the-art Ali Bin Hamad Al Attiyah at Al Sadd, the newspaper said, adding that 660 of the best judo players from 99 countries will be present at the event.
It concluded its editorial by pointing out that all eyes will be on the world-renowned Katara Opera House in Doha which will host the official draw ceremony for the AFC Asian Cup Qatar 2023.  The Asian Cup will be held from January 12 to February 10, 2024 in Qatar for the third time after the continental event was hosted by Doha in 1988 and 2011.
