Doha, May 09 (QNA) - In their editorials Tuesday, Qatari newspapers highlighted HH the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani's patronizing of the graduation ceremony of the 46th batch (class of 2023) of Qatar University (QU) students, which reflects the wise leadership's keenness on science and knowledge as one of renaissance and achievement engines in the State of Qatar.
The newspapers said that the State of Qatar, which today takes the lead in various fields, has risen and continues to rise with the efforts of its academically and cognitively qualified students, who have enjoyed the generous care of the wise leadership, until they reached the university level, stressing that Qatar University plays a pivotal role in the national development strategies, and provides the labor market with academically, scientifically and cognitively qualified competencies to achieve the country's development plans.
   The papers underlined that Qatar University has contributed throughout its history to achieving the goals of the State and the aspirations of its wise leadership through its sober academic formation, its well-established institutional culture, its distinguished scientific and research capabilities, and its preparation for generations of competencies and experience.
  Al-Arab newspaper said in its editorial that the country witnessed yesterday a new step of investment in the most precious thing it possesses, which is the human being, as HH the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani patronized the graduation ceremony of the 46th batch (class of 2023) of Qatar University students, held at the University's Sports and Events Complex.
  The paper noted that during the ceremony, HH the Amir honored the 107 outstanding graduate students, while HE President of Qatar University (QU) Dr. Hassan bin Rashid Al Derham handed certificates to the 767 graduate students in various disciplines. In a tweet on his official Twitter account, HH the Amir expressed his confidence that the graduates, thanks to their perseverance and the diversity of their disciplines, will be a qualitative addition in serving the country and society.
   The paper pointed out that His Highness - by honoring this ceremony - always and practically affirms his sponsorship of all education activities, as they are the basis for the progress of countries, and also reflects His Highness' constant bet on youth that they will make new achievements to a homeland that has always proven that any obstacles will not discourage it from building a modern state that encourages education and a society that recognizes the value of youth without neglecting the experiences of seniors, noting that within a few years, Qatar - with its prominent educational centers, universities and institutes - became a spot of light illuminating the sky of the region.
  In turn, Al-Sharq newspaper highlighted HH the Amir's patronizing of the graduation ceremony of the 46th batch (class of 2023) of Qatar University (QU) students, held at the University's Sports and Events Complex on Monday morning.
It said that HH's patronizing of QU's graduation ceremony has clear indications of the expected role of graduates to contribute to advancing the comprehensive development process that the country is witnessing in various economic, social, political, sports and other fields, according to their university majors in various work sectors.
  The paper saw that Qatar University plays a pivotal role in serving national development strategies and providing the labor market with academically, scientifically and cognitively qualified competencies to achieve the country's development plans, adding that Qatar University has contributed throughout its history to achieving the goals of the State and the aspirations of its wise leadership through its sober academic formation, its well-established institutional culture, its distinguished scientific and research capabilities, and its preparation for generations of competencies and experience.
Al-Sharq concluded its editorial by saying that the trust HH the Amir placed in the graduates makes them aware of their national responsibility in serving the country and society by contributing effectively to the comprehensive development process and working sincerely for the progress of the country, and obliges public and private sectors to shoulder great responsibility represented in the need to absorb, employ and train these qualified academic competencies, so that they are able to participate effectively in serving their country and society, and contribute to achieving the goals and of Qatar National Vision 2030.

For its part, Al-Raya newspaper said in its editorial that HH the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani's patronizing of the 46th batch (class of 2023) of Qatar University students' graduation ceremony reflects the wise leadership's interest in knowledge as one of the engines of renaissance and achievement in Qatar, which has become an example of sophistication and development.
    Qatar, a world leader in various fields today, continues to rise with the help of its academically-qualified children, who have enjoyed the generous care of the wise leadership until they reach university, the paper stressed.
    Qatar University (QU) is celebrating a new batch of graduates in an atmosphere of pride, achievement, and determination, proving that it will continue the course of academic development and achieve its educational goals. The 46th batch will supply the labor market with 3913 fresh graduates with a selection of competencies and experiences that will join the other 64,000 QU graduates since its establishment more than 46 years ago, the paper said.
    Al-Raya considered that QU has the right to be proud that it has contributed to generations of competencies that have built this country and that it stands today on the threshold of an important stage in history, which represents a qualitative and civilized shift in response to the comprehensive renaissance that Qatar is witnessing, keeping pace with modern trends in higher education.
    Al-Raya concluded that QU occupies a prestigious academic position globally, as confirmed by Qatar University (QU) President Dr. Hassan Rashid Al Derham, advancing within the international rankings of universities this year to occupy the 208th place in the QS World University Rankings, and the 226th place in Times Higher Education World University Rankings, both times placing second among Arab universities. QU is on the verge of approving its strategic plan for the next phase in line with the Third National Development Strategy (2023-2030). 
  In turn, Al-Watan newspaper began its editorial by saying that HH the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani patronized the graduation ceremony of the 46th batch (class of 2023) of Qatar University students, held at the University's Sports and Events Complex on Monday morning.
    Education is important and has unlimited support from His Highness as it builds a person who is knowledgeable and responsible and HH the Amir's patronization of the graduation ceremony and honoring the outstanding reflects that. QU contributes through its graduates to achieve the goals of the state and the aspirations of its leadership, as it is the national university that contributes majorly to supplying the labor market with the competencies necessary to achieve the country's development plans. In this sense, His Highness's patronization of the graduation ceremony and the honoring of outstanding students indicates that Qatar places its hopes on these graduates to continue the process of renaissance and development in all fields, the paper added.
    Al-Watan said in its conclusion QU has become a pioneering national institution of higher education, ahead of many Arab and international universities, which indicates the care and attention the wise leadership attaches to this edifice, which has become a beacon of science, innovation, and scientific research in Qatar.
    For its part, the English-language newspaper The Peninsula highlighted that QU's graduation ceremony of its 46th batch of graduating students is a milestone for QU, the country's premier tertiary institution.
    In its editorial titled "QU: 46 cohorts and counting," the newspaper said that since it was established, QU has graduated over 64,000 students. As a beacon of education and development, QU has contributed immensely to achieving the country’s goals and the aspiration of its leadership through its academic formation, institutional culture, outstanding scientific and research capabilities, and preparing generations of competencies and experiences.
    Meanwhile, QU has soared in global and regional rankings over the past year, becoming one of the top universities in the GCC, Arab world, and globally. In the QS World University Rankings, QU has risen to 208th globally and is placed 226th by the Times Higher Education World University Rankings. The institution is also second among Arab universities in both rankings, the paper added.
  In conclusion, The Peninsula said that the school has also earned accreditations for its programmes from some of the world’s top accrediting institutions. These accreditations align with QU’s commitment to fulfilling its national mission, its educational quality, collaborative efforts, and transferring experiences to other institutions in the country to stimulate comprehensive growth.
