Qatar's Cabinet Holds Weekly Meeting

Doha, September 13 (QNA) - HE Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of State for Defense Affairs Dr. Khalid bin Mohammed Al Attiyah chaired the Cabinet's regular meeting held at its seat at the Amiri Diwan on Wednesday morning. following the meeting, HE the Minister of State for Cabinet Affairs stated the following: At the beginning of the meeting, the Cabinet expressed its deepest condolences and sympathy to the government and people of the sisterly Kingdom of Morocco, on the victims of the devastating earthquake that struck several Moroccan regions and cities, wishing a speedy recovery for the injured. The Cabinet reaffirmed the State of Qatar's support for the Kingdom of Morocco and its solidarity with its brotherly people in confronting the repercussions of the earthquake, as well as providing the necessary assistance to the affected areas. The Cabinet also expressed its deepest condolences and sympathy to the Government of National Unity in the sisterly State of Libya and to the brotherly Libyan people, on the victims of the floods that swept the north-east of the country, wishing a speedy recovery for the injured, reaffirming the State of Qatar's solidarity and its readiness to provide the necessary assistance to the areas affected by the floods. The Cabinet then considered the topics on its agenda as follows: First - Approval of the draft decision of the Minister of Municipality amending Decision No. (68) of 2011 Amending Geographical Boundaries of Certain Municipalities and Zones. Second - Approval of the draft decision of the Minister of Municipality on banning fishing using lights (flashlights). Third - Approval of: 1- The State of Qatar's accession to the Digital Cooperation Organization. 2- The State of Qatar's accession to the Agreement on Liberalization of Trade in Services among Arab States. 3- A draft agreement on the establishment of a regional office for the Universal Postal Union in the State of Qatar. 4- A draft Memorandum of Understanding on cooperation in the field of labour between the Ministry of Labour of the State of Qatar and the Ministry of Labour and Social Protection of Population of the Republic of Azerbaijan. Fourth - The Cabinet then reviewed the following topics and took appropriate decisions thereon: 1- Periodic report on hosting the Horticultural Expo 2023 Doha. 2- The fourth periodic report on the results of the work of the National Counter Terrorism Committee during the period from 10/1/2022 to 4/1/2023. 3- Outcomes of the 90th Annual General Session of the World Assembly of Delegates of the World Organisation for Animal Health (WOAH) (Paris - May 2023).
