Russia needs sea and sun in Turkey, a politician says
MOSCOW (A.A) - 25.02.2011 - Leader of a Russian political party said that Russia needed Mediterranean shore and sun in Turkey.
Vladimir Zhirinovsky, the leader of Liberal Democratic Party of Russia, delivered a speech at a conference titled "Russia and Turkey in the 21st century" and said that they did not need Turkish or Russian communists, but Mediterranean shore and sun in Turkey.
Salih Kapusuz, the chairperson of the Turkish-Russian Interparliamentary Friendship Group, said at the conference that there has been a great improvement in relations between Turkey and Russia.
International system has passed through a radical change and there were several threats in the world such as terrorism, proliferation of mass destruction weapons and illegal migration, Kapusuz said.
"There is need for a common solution against these new threats. Democratization, pluralism, harmony and tolerance are important concepts," he said.
Kapusuz said that Turkey aimed to contribute to global peace and stability.
Turkey attached a great importance to improvement of its relations with Russia and Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan would pay a visit to Moscow on March 15 and 16, he said.
