Saudi Ambassador to the US Congratulates Kingdom's Leadership on Launching First Saudi Crew to Space

Washington, May 22, 2023, SPA -- Saudi Arabia's Ambassador to the United States, Princess Reema bint Bandar bin Sultan bin Abdulaziz Al Saud congratulated the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, and the Saudi people for the great national achievement of launching Saudi astronauts Rayyanah Barnawi and Ali Al-Qarni on their journey to the International Space Station, as part of the Kingdom's program for astronauts.
In a statement to the Saudi Press Agency, the Saudi ambassador said: “I'd like to thank all those in charge of the success of the Kingdom’s ambitious program in the field of space. The Kingdom has taken real and tangible steps in empowering Saudi women and stressing their pioneering and developmental role in achieving the goals of the Kingdom's Vision 2030."
"I am proud to attend the launch of this space mission, which represents a milestone for two historical events, as this mission is the first mission for an Arab and Muslim woman in space, and it is also the first time for a Saudi Arab crew to travel to the International Space Station, she said, adding that "this great achievement would not have been accomplished without the continued support of HRH the Crown Prince in encouraging our youth to learn and work hard and diligently until we reached space".
