Saudi Delegation, Headed by Ambassador Al Jaber, Holds Several Meetings in Rome

Rome, May 28, 2023, SPA -- A Saudi delegation headed by the Kingdom's Ambassador to Yemen, the General Supervisor of the Saudi Development and Reconstruction Program for Yemen (SDRPY), Mohammed bin Saeed Al Jaber, has held several meetings in Rome, Italy, including a meeting with the Chairman of the Saudi-Italian Parliamentary Friendship Committee, Marco Osnato.
During the meeting, the two sides highlighted the distinguished historical relations between the two countries in various fields and aspects of cooperation between the two countries in several fields.
The Saudi delegation also met with the Executive Director of the World Food Program (WFP), Cindy Hensley McCain, and the WFP Deputy Executive Director, Ramiro Lopes da Silva, at the headquarters of the World Food Program (WFP) in Rome and discussed several issues of mutual concern.
Ambassador Al Jaber and his accompanying delegation also held meetings with several senior officials in the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, the Foreign Affairs and Defense Committee of the Italian Senate, and the Foreign Affairs Committee of the Italian House of Representatives.
The delegation also held a meeting with the Italian Special Envoy of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation in charge of Yemen and Afghanistan, Gianfranco Petruzzella, and participated in a round table meeting in cooperation with the Med-Or Foundation, which discussed multiple issues of common interest.
During the meetings, the delegation reviewed the Kingdom's political, economic, humanitarian, and development efforts in Yemen and discussed means to support peace in Yemen, in addition to highlighting the Kingdom's development support through SDRPY, whose projects and initiatives amounted to 229 development projects and initiatives in basic sectors including education, health, energy, transportation, water, agriculture, fisheries, government institutions, in addition to development programs.
These development projects and initiatives have contributed to improving daily life in various Yemeni governorates and raising the efficiency of the infrastructure of Yemen's essential and vital sectors.
The delegation also briefed the Italian officials on the role of the support provided by the Kingdom and its effective contributions in stimulating economic growth in Yemen by providing oil derivatives grants for electricity generation for all Yemeni governorates.
