Saudi, Omani Culture Ministries Sign MoU for Cooperation

Riyadh, October 8, 2023, SPA -- Saudi Minister of Culture Prince Badr bin Abdullah bin Farhan and Omani Minister of Culture, Sports and Youth Sayyid Dhi Yazin bin Haitham al-Said have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to boost cooperation and cultural exchange in various fields.
The MoU stipulates, among others, developing Saudi-Omani cultural cooperation in the fields of heritage, architecture and design arts, visual and performing arts, literature, books and publishing, language and translation, fashion, Islamic decoration, traditional culinary arts, and cinema. It also entails exchanging expertise regarding the regulations, organizations and policies governing the cultural sector, as well as implementing agreements they had reached with UNESCO.
It also includes participating in festivals and cultural events held by the two countries, facilitating communication between cultural entities and intellectuals, carrying out joint strategic projects in various cultural fields, art residency programs for representatives of government and private institutions, and execution of projects related to the preservation of heritage.
The memorandum was signed to promote international cultural exchange, which is one of the strategic goals of Saudi Vision 2030.
