Artificial Intelligence Academy inaugurated

Manama, Apr. 18 (BNA): The Labour Fund (Tamkeen), in cooperation with Bahrain Polytechnic and Microsoft Corporation, has announced the inauguration of the Artificial Intelligence Academy at Bahrain Polytechnic which aims to provide a platform for the youth to boost their innovation and creativity capabilities in the field of artificial intelligence.
This came on the sidelines of the Global Entrepreneurship Congress which was hosted by Bahrain from April 15 to 18 with the participation of around 170 countries from all over the world.
The launch of the academy is in line with the directives of First Deputy Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports and President of Bahrain Olympic Committee His Highness Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa to include the artificial intelligence disciplines in the kingdom’s educational system, especially after the outstanding performance of the youth in Khalid bin Hamad Innovation in Artificial Intelligence Competition.
The academy is expected to groom 60 student trainees from schools and universities and their teachers according to a comprehensive curriculum with multiple tracks in artificial intelligence, data science, data analysis and the basics of learning the machine.
The programme is considered as a strategic step to boost the kingdom’s pioneering status in the region in the artificial intelligence technology.
