Positive Covid-19 Cases In Indonesia Climb Above 80,000

JAKARTA, July 16 (Bernama) -- The number of positive COVID-19 cases in Indonesia has crossed the 80,000 mark, with another 1,522 cases reported in the past 24 hours. Indonesian government spokesman for COVID-19, Achmad Yurianto said from 12 noon on Tuesday to 12 noon on Wednesday, there were 87 more fatalities to bring the death toll to 3,797 people. “There are now 80,094 positive cases with 24,871 patients being monitored,” he told a daily press conference aired over the official YouTube channel of Indonesia’s National Board for Disaster Management (BNPB). The province of East Java also recorded the most COVID-19 deaths with 1,275 cases, followed by Jakarta (706 cases), Central Java (258), South Sulawesi (251) and the rest in the other provinces. -- BERNAMA
