Sci-tech Achievements Made in Agriculture of DPRK

Pyongyang, September 7 (KCNA) -- Scientists of the DPRK have made signal achievements conducive to the nation's agricultural development. Presented to the 31st National Festival of Science and Technology recently held at the Sci-Tech Complex in Pyongyang were many valuable agro-technical findings and products. They include a system for building and searching database on the country's soil analysis that helps control the land resources in a unified way. There are also a method of evaluating crop estimate of grain based on information technology and a balanced vibrating combined soil machine which ensures plowing and harrowing at the same time. And a newly-developed rice seed-covering material raises the germination rate of seed 95 percent while reducing the scale of damage from underground harmful insects. -0-
