SEC Enhances Efficiency of Electric Network by Automating Distribution Stations at Holy Sites

Mina, June 28, 2023, SPA -- The Saudi Electricity Company (SEC) is moving ahead with its digital transformation endeavour as per the targets of the Saudi Vision 2030 and the strategic plans for the Kingdom’s energy sector, led by Prince Abdulaziz bin Salman, the Minister of Energy.
In achieving a leadership position in the Kingdom’s digital transformation efforts, the SEC is improving the digital capabilities of the country’s electricity systems by relying on smart networks and automation to keep pace with technological transformations.
The company has finalized the automation of the distribution stations and meters at the holy sites. It has replaced them with smart stations, which help to quickly restore electrical service in the event of a general outage through the control and monitoring centre, which works round the clock to provide high-quality services to pilgrims and subscribers.
The company’s automation of its electric power stations and replacement of them with smart ones is an immense contribution to improving the distribution operations and enhancing the efficiency of the electric power systems.
