Dostuk marathon kicks off from Kyrgyzstan to Uzbekistan

Tashkent, Aug. 28, 2018 / Kabar /. A marathon has started on Monday in Osh city devoted to the 90th anniversary of great writer Chyngyz Aitmatov, the 535th anniversary of the Uzbek poet and statesman Babur and the 27th anniversary of the Independence of Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan, first secretary of the representation of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic for the southern region Zamirbek Kazybekov told Kabar Agency.
Runners from Kyrgyzstan - Satvaldy azhy Khusanov (74 years old), Zulumbek Khabibullayev (69) and Kuransanbek Sydykov (48 years old) participate in the marathon. The total distance of the marathon is 540 km, of which they run 430 km, the Kamchik pass (110 km) they will overcome by car. "They intend to reach Tashkent by Aug. 9.
"The goal of the marathon is to contribute to strengthening friendship between Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan, as well as further development of people's diplomacy between Kyrgyz and Uzbek people," Kazybekov said.
Runners to the border of Uzbekistan will be accompanied by Kyrgyz law enforcement agencies, then - Uzbek. In addition, next to them will be on the car doctors.
Earlier these marathon runners crossed the Osh-Bishkek and Bishkek-Osh distances.
