Fabio, Franco Will Bounce Back At Aragon Circuit - Petronas Yamaha SRT's Principal
KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 12 (Bernama) -- Petronas Yamaha Sepang Racing Team (SRT) principal Razlan Razali believes that Fabio Quartararo and Franco Morbidelli will bounce back from their disappointment in France for the back-to-back races in the Aragon Grand Prix (GP) and Teruel GP at the Aragon Circuit in Spain this month.
Razlan pointed out that he was pleased with Quartararo’s performance in the French GP at the Le Mans Circuit yesterday after the Frenchman came in ninth (46 minutes and 11.423 seconds) to still retain top spot in the MotoGP World Championship standings with 115 points after nine races.
Spaniard Joan Mir of Team Suzuki Ecstar and Ducati Team rider Andrea Dovizioso of Italy, who came in 11th and fourth respectively at the French GP, are second and third in the overall standings with 105 points and 97 points respectively.
"Unfortunately, Franco had to retire with some mechanical problems after a crash,” Razlan was quoted as saying on the team's website www.sepangracingteam.com.
"We go to Aragon still leading both the riders’ and teams’ championships (with 170 points), although we know that the two races there are going to be even tougher. But we will be fighting every lap.
Morbidelli is in the sixth spot with 77 points despite failing to finish Sunday's race.
The Aragon GP will be from Oct 16-18 and the Teruel GP from Oct 23-25.
