FAM Looks Forward To Collaborating With Royal Belgian Football Association

KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 21 (Bernama) -- The Football Association of Malaysia (FAM) is looking forward to collaborating with the Royal Belgian Football Association for the mutual benefit of both parties. FAM president Hamidin Mohd Amin said the proposal was made by the Belgian Ambassador to Malaysia, Pascal H. Gregoire, who paid a courtesy call on the former at Wisma FAM, Kelana Jaya, here Tuesday. He said Gregoire also praised FAM's courage in pursuing the privatisation agenda in its effort to transform local football competition. "We shared our views apart from discussing the potential for cooperation between the two countries, not to mention that Belgium are at the top of the FIFA World Ranking, despite having a population of only 11 million. "We are also considering the possibility of holding community programmes in an effort to promote both countries to their respective audiences," said Hamidin in the latest post on FAM’s Facebook page. Based on the latest FIFA rankings, Belgium are in first place with 1,773 points, while Malaysia are ranked 154th in the world (1,040 points). -- BERNAMA
