Iran-Russia Paralympic Champs In Barents Sea-Persian Gulf Tour

Isfahan, May 1, IRNA – Voice of Russia reported Monday that Iranian and Russian Paralympics champions would take part at a rally titled Barents Sea-Persian Gulf in July. According to the report, the car rally would begin at a Russian port city at the bank of the frozen waters of the Arctic Ocean and end in Iran’s Bushehr city by the bank of the warm waters of the ever Persian Gulf. The VOR report indicated that the rally details have been arranged in collaboration with the diplomatic representative offices of the two countries, adding that the Iranian athletes would join the other participants at one of the part cities of Russia on the rally course, and it is predicted that more than five groups of Paralympics athletes from Iran and Russia would be competing in the rally. The sportswomen and sportsmen would start their rally from Moscow, and Lipetsk, in Astrakhan province, and then pass through Kazakhstan and Turkmenistan before arriving in Iran, when they would head for the Persian Gulf. The Russian athletes on their way back would pass through Azerbaijan Republic, Dagestan, and Chechen before arriving back in Russia, thus completing a full tour around the Caspian Sea. According to the VOR, the Paralympics athletes of both countries would during their month-long rally each pave about ten kilometers. In the year 2011, too, the Paralympics athletes of Iran and Russia jointly mounted to the peak of Iran’s tallest mountain, Damavand. /end
