ISG Venue Should Not Be Moved To Jakarta

Pekanbaru, Riau, April 23 (Antara) - The venue of the Islamic Solidarity Games (ISG) 2013 should remain in Riau and not be moved to Jakarta as earlier hinted by Youth and Sports Minister Roy Suryo, a local organizer urged. "I hope the venue of ISG not to be moved. Officially we have not received a letter regarding this matter," Emrizal Pakis, deputy chairman of the local organizing committee of the ISG 2013, said here on Tuesday. Previously, Minister Roy Suryo had said that ISG central organizing committee planned to move the ISG 2013 venue from Riau to Jakarta. The ISG 2013 is scheduled to be held from September 22 to October 1. "We have followed the current developments in Pekanbaru. Some decision have to be made such as moving the ISG venue," the minister said. The decision was made by the Youth and Sports Ministry, the Indonesia Olympic Committee (IOC), the National Sports Committee of Indonesia (KONI), the ISG Committee, Satlak Prima and the Coordinating Ministry for People`s Welfare in a meeting on the preparations for the ISG implementation. Due to some problems in Riau, Minister Roy Suryo had earlier gave three options as solution. First, the ISG venue will remain in Pekanbaru, Riau and it will be held on June 6-17. The second option is the ISG venue will be moved, and the last option that the ISG 2013 implementation should be delayed.
