Khalid bin Hamad congratulates Leadership

Manama, Nov. 20 (BNA): His Highness Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, First Deputy President of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sport, Honorary Chairman of the Bahrain Mixed Martial Arts Federation (BMMAF), Chairman of the Higher Organizing Committee for the BRAVE International Combat Week and the 4th edition of the Mixed Martial Arts World Championship, has congratulated His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, His Royal Highness Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al-Khalifa and His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa the Crown Prince and Deputy Supreme Commander, First Deputy Prime Minister, on Bahrain's winning two golden medals in the World Mixed Martial Arts Championships. The two medals were won by fighters Bahraini Hamza Mohammadov and Murtadha Talha Ali, and achieving the second place in the overall ranking among (51) participating countries. HH Shaikh Khalid said: "the great international achievement on the land of Bahrain is a historic achievement in every sense of the word, because it is the first achieved for the sport of mixed martial arts after a successful march of this sport, which received all the support and care by the wise leadership, which was keen to provide all forms of support and provide the appropriate environment through which to enhance the achievements of this sport in a short period". His Highness said: "the efforts of my brother His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa the representative of His Majesty the King for Charity Works and Youth Affairs, Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports, and President of Bahrain Olympic Committee, played an important role in obtaining the achievements of the Kingdom of Bahrain. His comprehensive vision for the development of the Bahraini sport, from laying the building blocks for the launch of the Bahraini sport towards the International scene. The mixed martial art had benefited from the strategy of His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa and was realized in reality to reach its goal of raising the name and flag of Bahrain high in international events to highlight the bright picture of Bahraini sports, especially mixed martial arts". HH Shaikh Khalid added: "I am proud of this unprecedented result achieved by the mixed martial arts sport fighters Hamza Mohammadov and Murtadha Talha Ali, who have secured Bahrain's gold achievements in the history of mixed martial arts; this is what drives us to do more to achieve such honourable results that strengthen the position of Bahrain on the global sports map". "I was eagerly waiting for this result to be realized on the ground through the World Mixed Martial Arts Championship. Since the formation of the Bahrain team, we have put forward our plan to reach this honourable result, which ended in success, and we have succeeded in reaching the podium, winning two gold medals and three bronze, placing Bahrain in second place on the global level," His Highness said. "We have worked hard for a long time to build an invincible Bahraini team in the mixed martial arts game, and we have set a clear and professional strategy to reach global achievements. With the fruits of what we planted, we achieved two gold and three bronze medals in the world championship and the second place on the global level, and we hope to continue our work in the same format to enhance achievements and maintain the gains". His Highness praised the high level of professionalism shown by the fighter Hamza Mohammedov and the fighter Murtadha Talha Ali in the World Championship, and their keenness to fight with all ferocity, bravery, and courage, in all the bouts they fought, and proved that they are real heroes and cannot be defeated, and that rising to the podiums is their goal in each championship. They have been able to apply the team's technical strategy and reached our goal to see the flag and the name of the Kingdom of Bahrain rising high in the world forum. HH Shaikh Khalid praised the technical and administrative efforts that paved the way for the two champions to achieve this advanced position on the international level, and to create all conditions for them to participate in this international sports event, and gathering and competing to achieve honourable results. At the same time, he wished all the success to all Bahraini athletes in raising the name of the Kingdom of Bahrain high in the various tournaments in which they will participate".
