Leadership congratulated on GCC Basketball Championship

Manama, Feb. 11 (BNA): Youth and Sports Affairs Minister has congratulated the leadership on the national team’s winning the title of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Youth Basketball Championship held in Oman. He affirmed that this accomplishment translates into practical reality the tremendous support of the wise leadership to the youth and sports movement and its affiliates to achieve one feat after another at the various sports arenas. The minister praised His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa the representative of His Majesty the King for Charity Works and Youth Affairs, Chairman of the Supreme Council of Youth and Sports and President of Bahrain Olympic Committee and his keenness on supporting the national teams in their external participations, at the same time, affirming the sound policy adopted by His Highness Shaikh Isa bin Ali Al Khalifa the President of Bahrain Basketball Association in management of the game and his continuous follow up of national clubs and teams that contributed to achievement of the GCC Basketball Youth Championship. Al Jowder praised the efforts of national team basketballers and their keenness on representing the Kingdom at this major GCC sports event and their provision of top performance culminating in their winning the first title of the championship. He expressed wishes that the faithful efforts led by HH Shaikh Isa bin Ali Al Khalifa and members of the Board of Directors in paving the ideal atmospheres for the team to do their best performance in the upcoming Asian cup in Thailand, that will reflect the bright image of Bahraini sports in general and basketball in particular.
