Liverpool Undergoes First Training Session

Jakarta, July 18 (Antara) - The Liverpool FC is undergoing their first training session in the pitch of Gelora Bung Karno (GBK) Stadium, Jakarta, on Thursday after they arrived a day earlier. Their first training session is also the first time for Steven Gerrards and his teammates that undergo in the biggest football stadium in Indonesia. However, there was a player who previously had felt the GBK Stadium`s atmosphere, which is Philippe Coutinho, when he visit Indonesia earlier with his former team Inter Milan last year. The Brendan Rodgers` boys enter the field of GBK Stadium at 10 am and starting their light exercise training session, which is closed to the public. Eventhough the training session is closed to the public, there are a bunch of Kopites from Big Reds Indonesia Official Liverpool Supporter Club waiting outside the stadium, chanting their team songs. "Of course we really want to meet the players. But what could I do, the training session is closed to the public and the security was tight," said one of the local Kopites, Satria. While the training session is undergo, the stadium security is getting tighten. The all black wardrobe securities is guard every gate of the stadium. The Reds is scheduled to undergo five training session in the morning and evening, in prior to the match against the Indonesia XI in GBK Stadium, July 20. Rodgers brought 24 players for their first Indonesia visit namely Brad Jones, Simon Mignolet, Glen Johnson, Jose Enrique, Kolo Toure, Daniel Agger, Luis Alberto, Steven Gerrard, Iago Aspas, Philippe Coutinho, Oussama Assaidi, Jordan Henderson, Stewart Downing, Jay Spearing, Lucal Leiva, Joe Allen, Fabio Borini, Raheem Sterling, Martin Kelly, Martin Skrtel, Jon Flanagan, Andrew Wisdom, Jack Robinson and Jordon Ibe. Rodgers actually named 28 players, the rest that did not join with their teammates in Indonesia is Jose Manuel Reina, Sebastian Coates, Luis Suarez and Dani Pacheco. Three players who just come back from their participation in FIFA Confederations Cup Reina, Coates and Suarez scheduled to join their teammates on preseason tour macth in Australia. Meanwhile Dani Pacheco did not join with the rest of his teammates because he is on the way to join Celta Vigo on long season loan. After the first opening match of their preseason tour against Indonesia, Reds going to fly to Melbourne, Australia in July 24 and Bangkok, Thailand in July 28.
