MONGOLIAN JUDOKAS CLAIMED FOUR MEDALS AT MASTERS SAINT PETERSBURG

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ Mongolian judokas captured two gold and two bronze medals on the first day of the Masters Saint Petersburg held on December 16-17. The top-16 judoka in each weight category in the world are invited to the season-ending World Judo Masters. World champion D.Sumiya truimphed at the Masters, winning the rematch against Tokyo Grand Slam winner Yoshida Tsukasa. Before, D.Sumiya won the Masters in 2013, 2015 and 2016. With her latest victory in 2017, she set the highest record of four times winner. Before Judokas S.Miyaragchaa won two gold medal in 2010 and 2012, whereas Kh.Tsagaanbaatar, M.Urantsetseg and S.Nyam-Ochir won one time at the Masters. In the women’s 48kg, world number one M.Urantsetseg grabbed a bronze medal, winning Brazilian Judoka Stefannie Arissa Koyama. In the first semi-final, she was beaten by Russian Irina Dolgova. M.Urantsetseg won a gold medal at the Masters in Morocco in 2015. In the men’s -66kg category, G.Kherlen won a gold medal. He defeated Yeldos Zhumakanov with an ippon. In the first semi-final G.Kherlen squeezed past Baku Grand Slam bronze medalist Baruch Shmailov Israel by a waza-ari score. As for State Honored Athlete D.Amartuvshin, he claimed a bronze medal being defeated with an ippon seoi-nage with 60 seconds left in the second semi-final. Then in the bronze medal match, D.Amartuvshin beat Pan American Champion Eric Takabatake in golden score. E.Altanzul
