NEPAL’S MMC BEATS CAMBODIA’S SVAY RIENG IN ULAANBAATAR

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ Nepal’s Red Bull Martyrs’ A Division League champion Manang Marshyandi Club (MMC) won against Cambodia’s League champion Svay Rieng in its first match of the AFC President’s Cup 2014 Qualifiers held at MFF Football Centre, Ulaanbaatar on Thursday. With the win, MMC has strengthened its hope for the next round of the tournament. Now, it will take on Mongolia’s League champion Erchim on May 5. Altogether 11 teams from the emerging countries of Asia are participating in the tournament which will be played on a round-robin basis. According to the draw for the group stage held at the AFC House in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia in March, MMC, Svay Rieng and Erchim are drawn in Group C of the AFC President’s Cup Qualifiers. The winners and runner-ups of each group will qualify for the next round of AFC President’s Cup.
