RI takes Home Gold Medal In Int'l Dragon Boat Championship

Padang, W Sumatra, June 10 (Antara) - Indonesia took home a gold medal in the final round of the International Dragon Boat (IDB) 2013 tournament at the flood canal in the Agus Salim Sports Stadium compounds here on Sunday night. The Indonesian rowing team represented by West Sumatra`s best rowers was assured of the first place after outclassing their Australian and Malaysian rivals in the 800 meters finals of the week-long event. With the triumph, the Indonesian team deserved to receive the challenge cup from the tourism and creative minister and a cash prize of Rp12.5 million. The Malaysian team which came in second and the Australian team which secured the third place received Rp8.5 million and Rp7.5 million respectively.
